Over my many years in marketing, I have implemented more than a few CRM systems. Some have worked terrifically well. Some have not lived up to the hype in the management and sales person's views and then some are just not worth the investment in time to keep them running.
We have progressed into the age of social CRM, but these systems still requires you to feed them with increasing levels of content and to push the buttons to churn some activity out. These systems essentially turn sales and marketing staff into administrators....and very expensive administrators at that!
I was therefore very interested when I come across a new system called SalesTraction. This system claims to automate your marketing and monitor your sales using a drip feed system. This is a big claim indeed and if it proved to be true, it would signal the end to the bain of my life and also of my clients - the Yo Yo sales and marketing phenomenon.
Yo Yo sales and marketing is a cycle that almost every small business automatically creates. Work hard at sales and marketing until you get work, which you then do. Now you're too busy to do any sales and marketing, until one day you wake up and realise that there is no work coming in the door and you start the cycle again.
I believe that the Yo Yo phenomenon is the single biggest issue that puts the lights out for a small business in their younger years. Unfortunately, as all sales and marketing coaches will tell you, it is not an easy problem to solve...until now.
Having thoroughly used the SalesTraction system, I can confidently report that I was not disappointed. This is indeed an exciting tool for SMEs. Although all the software nice to have functionality is not there yet (hence the current price of £49 per month +vat for 3 user licenses, soon increasing to £59 per month), you can see the massive potential for this product created by the team at Traction Business Solutions (TBS). Indeed you can already use the system to considerable effect to really automate your marketing and monitor your sales. I can't wait to see what it will be able to do when the bells and whistles functionality has been added.
